Student leadership
2013 School Captains
Northcote High School students are active leaders within the school and in the greater community. Through increasing partnerships with our community, we have further expanded opportunities for our students to contribute purposefully to our school and community.

The School Captains for 2013 are shown above, ushers at the graduation of the class of 2012.
Hugh Morris- Dalton, (Captain), Fynn Pocock (Vice Captain), Nayri Black (Vice Captain), Alexander Tomisich (Vice Captain) Frieda Sniderman-Wise (Vice Captain), Dshamilja Poitzmann (Captain).
Music Captains are student leaders within our large Music Program and Sport Captains assist with the running of our Sport Carnivals, lunch competitions and team practices.
The Student Representative Council is led by SRC President and a Student Executive Council. The SRC includes representatives from the different form groups at each year level. The SRC leads school projects and actively participates in school events and fund raisers while also working with the community in areas such as Safety on Public Transport, Attitudes towards Drugs and Alcohol and Anti-bullying.
Throughout the school, students take on a range of leadership roles. For example, VCE students lead Changing the World at Lunchtime Forums, Year 10 students help run the Year 7 and Year 8 Boho Camps, Year 9 students lead community forums, Year 8 students are involved in sustainability projects and Year 7 students serve as ambassadors to visiting primary students. Over 150 students assist with the Open Day Activities every year. In the community, our students are involved in a wide range of community service activities both personally and as part of Northcote High School through our Advance Program and the Global Citizenship Award Program
