Camps and Tours
Northcote High School provides an extensive Camps Program to meet student pastoral needs and to encourage students to experience adventure activities.
Year Level Program Camps
In Year 7 and 9 students attend a whole year level camp for one week.
In Year 8 all students spend four days at the school campsite in the Strathbogie Ranges. The campsite is located at Boho South and is the former state school.
Activities on these camps include: hiking, visiting a farm, canoeing, horse riding, swimming & bush camping. Activities are designed as an extension to the work done in Personal Development classes.
At Years 7 and 9 students attend a whole Year level camp.
Other camps focus on adventure activities including: surfing, snow skiing , horse riding, the Great Victorian Bike Ride, and hiking (to Wilsons Promontory).
From time to time Interstate camps are organised to
- Central Australia
- Duke of Edinburgh program camps.
The school operates regular overseas trip to sister schools and places of interest to support the teaching of LOTE and cultural studies. These include
- China – every year
- France – every second year
- Italy – every second year.
Sometimes the school operates trips to
- New Caledonia for French language aquisition.
- Vietnam or Borneo through World Challenge.
- North America for Media and Art.
